The Nigeria Football Federation, NFF president, Amaju Pinnick has hinted that the country may play a host in the 2025 All African Cup of Nations, AFCON. Pinnick made the disclosure today while addressing newsmen in Lagos that Nigeria is in a better position to host the tournament if the country plays its card well, come 2025. He revealed that there is an indication CAF is not comfortable and may likely reject Guinea Republic from hosting the AFCON tournament in 2025.

In his statement, “We are putting a bid together for a co-hosting of the tournament with the Benin Republic.

“The Minister of Sports has given his endorsement on the bidding.

“It is high time Nigeria hosted an international tournament because there are many advantages attached to hosting such competitions.

According to the CAF president, there are many African countries bidding for the hosting of the tournament but expressed optimism that Nigeria may secure the nod of the CAF.

Pinnick assured that his office is tirelessly working with the Ministry of Youth and Sport to ensure that Nigeria gets the shot for the tournament.
