Chelsea Football Club have reportedly made a £25m offer to Arsenal in order to secure Chamberlain.  According to Sky sources, Chelsea's initial offer was rejected by Arsenal. However, the club is believed to be considering an improved offer to land the player before the end of the summer transfer window.

Chelsea Manager, Antonio Conte is keen to strengthen his side ahead of the new season since his side would be competing for more trophies including the Champions League. This resolve also followed their performance in the Community Shield match against their London arch rival, Arsenal where they were defeated 4-1 on a penalty. After the match, Chelsea Manager was said to have requested the management of the club to secure two or three additional players to enable him to prosecute the coming season effectively.

Chamberlain who performed excellently well in the wingback position for Arsenal is said to fit perfectly into Conte's 3-4-3 formations. The other player being considered by Chelsea is Danny Drinkwater. A deal for the duo would be completed before next week.
