A High Court sitting of the Federal Capital Territory on Friday remanded an ex Accountant-General of the Federation (AGF), Ahmed Idris, and two others in the custody of the Nigerian Correctional Service, Kuje, Abuja. Idris and his co-defendants are being prosecuted on a 14-count charge of alleged stealing and criminal breach of trust to the tune of N109 billion.

The National Population Commission (NPC) has disowned the fake recruitment portal circulating on social media platforms and advised the general public to ignore it. This was made known on Monday in a statement issued by the Commission’s Director, Public Affairs, Isiaka Yahaya.

The Katsina Police Command on Friday said its men arrested one of the escapees from the recent Kuje prison jailbreak. According to the police, the 33-year-old escapee, Kamal Abubakar, was re-arrested on Thursday evening in Danmusa Local Government Area of Katsina state, during a raid on suspected criminal hideouts in the council.

The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC has reacted to a viral video of alleged Permanent Voters Card, PVCs found buried in drainage. The electoral empire revealed that the alleged buried PVCs were found in a highly placed area in Rivers state. Recall a viral video that went around on social media portraying some number of PVCs alleged to have been buried somewhere at a politician's residence. 

The Inspector-General of Police (IGP) Usman Alkali Baba, has placed an indefinite ban on the use of Police SPY vehicle number plates by vehicle owners across the states 'without exceptions'. This was made known by the police spokesman Olumuyiwa Adejobi in a statement on 13th July 2022 stating that the ban is "irrespective of whether it is authorized, or not, as all authorizations are hereby revoked indefinitely", and more so to help in forestalling the continuous disregard for traffic rules and regulations and other extant laws guiding road use by individuals hiding under the privileges of SPY police number plates.

One of the wanted terror suspects who escaped from the Kuje Medium Security Custodial Centre, following an attack on the facility last week Tuesday, has been arrested by operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA). This was made known in a statement signed by NDLEA’s, Director of Media & Advocacy, Femi Babafemi.
