The organized labour comprised of the Trade Union Congress (TUC), Nigerian Labour Congress (NLC) and United Labour Congress (ULC) have suspended the planned nationwide strike scheduled to commence about 12 am on Tuesday November 6th.

The Police Service Commission, PSC, has released details of successful candidates following its recruitment exercise into the rank of Constable.
President Buhari had in January, approved the recruitment of 6,000 constables into the Nigeria Police Force, with the PSC confirming last month that over 133,000 candidates had applied.
Details on the PSC website show that candiates were selected from the 36 states and the FCT.
The Federal Government has increased maternity leave for women from 12 weeks to 16.

The Distillers and Blenders Association of Nigeria (DIBAN) says it rejects the new “astronomical increase” in excise duty being imposed on domestic wines and spirits.
The Chairman of DIBAN, Chief Patrick Anegbe told newsmen on Wednesday in Lagos, that the hike was a threat to the N420 billion investment of the industry.
Anegbe said that there was no prior engagement/consultation whatsoever with the indigenous producers of wines and spirits, before adopting the new excise method.
