President Muhammadu Buhari has on Wednesday appointed Bashir Jamoh as the new Director-General of the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency(NIMASA), taking over from Dakuku Peterside whose tenure ends next week.

 

Jamo, 56 years, is currently serving as NIMASA's Executive Director Admin and Finance and also, the President of the Chartered Institute of Transport Administration of Nigeria (CIoTA).

The new DG holds a PhD in Logistics and transport management from the University of Port Harcourt and a Master's degree in management from Korea Maritime and Ocean University.

Also, the Kaduna native holds a post-graduate diploma in management sciences from Bayero University, Kano and diploma in accounting from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria.

Jamoh who joined NIMASA in 2003 as Chief Commercial Officer, eastern and central zones possesses over 30 years of professional experience in the transport and maritime sector.
