A Lagos-based lawyer by name Bolanle Raheem, who was allegedly shot dead on Christmas day by a policeman, ASP, Drambi Vandi has been laid to rest amidst tears. Colleagues, family member and friends congregated at the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Banana Island, Ikoyi, Lagos, for her funeral service, after which she was interred. Representatives of the Nigeria Bar Association (NBA), and neighbours paid tributes to her.


Chairman of NBA Lagos Branch, in person of Ikechukwu Uwanna while the service was going on said “Once again, we’ve lost a member, a very, very active member of our branch. A colleague and we only pray that her soul finds rest and that the family will be consoled by the Almighty.”

Subsequently, the body was taken to the Vaults and Garden, Ikoyi, for a private burial.

Vandi was arraigned on Monday before Justice Ibironke Harrison of the Lagos State High Court at Tafawa Balewa Square on one count of murder. The case resumes on January 25 and 26 for the continuation of the cross-examination of Vandi, who pleaded “not guilty” to the charge.
