The Federal Government has debunked the rumour circulating in some media of giving Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders money during the recent meeting that was held in Birnin Kebbi. The Minister of Interior, Abdulrahman Danbazau disclosed this in Anka, Zamfara state on Monday while attending to some question from Journalist.

The Minister described the rumour of giving money as “pure mischief” and fabrication tantamount of causing disaffection.

In his statement, “Let me state categorically that during our meeting with members of the Miyetti Allah representatives, no issue of money was discussed at all, not to talk of giving them.

According to Mr, Danbazau, the rumour being circulated is a fabrication of the mischief-makers who are determined to divert attention from the monster threatening us, which is the killing of innocent Nigerians.

The Minister added, his visit to Zamfara was in furtherance of the meeting to direct synergy with stakeholders and iron issues as everyone can see, we are optimistic and on a course that the banditry troubling Zamfara people will come to pass.

He assured farmers that government is determined to bring this to an end and provide adequate security for all Nigerians especially as the farming season is fast approaching.

In his contribution, Mr Ahmad, who is also the Chairman of the Council of Chiefs in the state, appealed to the government to do more in ensuring that peace is returned.

He observed that unless something more serious is done, the incoming farming session is being threatened in the state, citing that many villages had been deserted with more displaced women and children coming to the towns.

Mr Ahmad said at the moment, there were over 16,000 internally displaced persons in Anka alone who had escaped bandits’ attacks from nearby villages; however, he called on security agencies to do something quick to enable villagers go back to their abode.
