The Transmission Company of Nigeria, TCN, has said that the country provides not less than 24 hour electricity to Niger, Togo and Benin Republic. TCN Chief Executive Officer, Sule Abdulaziz, disclosed this with satisfaction that Nigerians power supply has improvement positively. “We supply power to Togo, Benin and Niger. We supply them power consistently. They get power from Nigeria on 24 hour basis and they’re paying.” “Nigerians are getting 20-22 hour electricity supply, not everybody but people in Band A.”
Presently, the electricity generated, transmitted and distributed in Nigeria falls significantly less than the daily megawatts (MW) needed to meet basic household and industrial needs of the country.
