Afghanistan: Biden Vows Revenge After Explosion In Kabul Airport

President Joe Biden has vowed to retaliate against the attack in Kabul where at least 90 people including 13 US service members were killed in a suicide bomb attack carried out by ISIS-K at the airport in Kabul, capital of Afghanistan, where evacuation operation of people fleeing from the Taliban was ongoing on Thursday. “To those who carried out this attack, as well as anyone who wishes America harm notice, we will not forgive. We will not forget. We will hunt you down and make you pay. I will defend our interests and our people with every measure at my command,” Biden said. The attack occurred when the United States was days away from evacuating its last troops from Afghanistan in line with the August 31 deadline issued by the Taliban.

United States President Joe Biden broke days of silence concerning what is has been referred to as “messy” military pullout from Afghanistan, defending his decision as he fired scorching criticism at the country’s former Western-backed leadership for failing to resist the Taliban. In a televised address from the White House on Monday, after returning from the Camp David presidential retreat, Mr Biden during his first public remarks on Afghanistan in nearly a week said “I stand squarely behind my decision. After 20 years, I’ve learned the hard way that there was never a good time to withdraw US forces,” "How many more American lives is it worth?" asked the Democratic president. He said that despite the "messy" pullout, "there was never a good time to withdraw US forces". "If anything, the developments of the past week reinforce that ending US military involvement in Afghanistan now was the right decision."

Biden Demands The Resignation Of New York Governor

US President Joe Biden has called on fellow Democrat and Governor of New York Andrew Cuomo to resign after an investigation indicted over the sexual harassment of 11 women. When asked if the governor should be impeached, Biden said, “I think he should resign". This is not the first time Biden had advised the governor to resign. In March, Biden said Cuomo should resign if the New York investigation confirmed the sexual misconduct allegations made against him. “I think he’ll probably end up being prosecuted, too,” Biden told ABC News.

President Of Haiti Jovenel Moise Assassinated

The President of Haiti Jovenel Moise has been assassinated in his hometown at Pelerin 5 district of Pentionvilee on Tuesday night as revealed by the country's interim prime minister. Haiti Earthquake Kills More Than 1000 People, Destroy Thousands Of Homes

Officials in Haiti have confirmed at least 1,297 people are dead after a powerful 7.2-magnitude earthquake hit the Caribbean nation on Saturday. It destroyed completely more than 13,000 buildings and damaged more than 13,700, trapping hundreds under rubble and leaving more than 5,700 people injured, the country’s civil protection agency said in an update. Homes, churches and schools were among buildings flattened in the quake. Some hospitals were left overwhelmed and in dire need of medical supplies. More than 1.5 million Haitans were rendered homeless in that disaster, which also destroyed 60 percent of Haiti’s healthcare system, leaving authorities and the international humanitarian community with a colossal challenge. Prime Minister Ariel Henry was quoted saying “when it comes to medical needs, this is our biggest urgency. We have started to send medications and medical personnel to the facilities that are affected.” “For the people who need urgent special care, we have evacuated a certain number of them, and we will evacuate some more today and tomorrow.” Henry urged Haitans to band together in solidarity.

Haiti: Former Bodyguard, 26 Colombians Involved In Moise Assassination

A former bodyguard at the Canadian Embassy in Port au Prince, James Solages, another Haitian American, Joseph Vincent and 26 Colombians have been arrested in connection with the assassination of Haitian President Jovenel Moise. Moise, 53, was fatally shot early on Wednesday at his home by what officials said was a group of foreign, trained killers, pitching the poorest country in the Americas deeper into turmoil amid political divisions, hunger and widespread gang violence.

George Floyd: Derek Chauvin Sentenced To Twenty Two & Half Years In Prison

Former Minneapolis police officer, Derek Chauvin have been sentenced to 22 1/2 years in prison after been convicted of murder and manslaughter in the death of George Floyd. The sentencing follows the emotional testimony from Floyd’s family and Chauvin’s mother, along with brief condolences from Chauvin himself, Judge Peter Cahill said the sentence was not based on emotion, sympathy or public opinion.
