The Federal Government of Nigeria through the Director-General of the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) disclosed on Sunday 7th of April 2017, that it will introduce a funding system which will cater for the needs of patients with confirmed cases of Lassa fever in the country. 

The Minister of Health, Prof. Isaac Adewole, said the Federal Government has revitalized over 4,000 Primary Healthcare Centres (PHCs), across the country from 2015 to date. Adewole made the claims at the flag-off of a special medical mission to Jiwa Emirate in Abuja by Association of Nigerian Physicians in the Americas (ANPA), over the weekend.

President Muhammadu Buhari has ordered that the State House Medical Centre (SHMC) be reverted to a Clinic in a bid to serve the original purpose of its establishment. Mr Jalal Arabi, Permanent Secretary, State House, made the assertion when he appeared before the Senate Committee on Federal Character and Inter-Governmental Affairs for the 2019 budget defense.
