The first Coronavirus death in Nigeria has been recorded at the University of Abuja Teaching Hospital, Gwagwalada. This was announced by the Nigeria Center for Disease Control (NCDC) through their official twitter handle @NCDCgov on 23rd March 2020. 

Son of Nigeria's former Vice President and Presidential aspirant in the 2019 general elections, Atiku Abubakar has tested positive to Coronavirus. The former Vice President made this disclosure through his official verified Twitter handle on Sunday.

The Director-General of National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) Mojisola Adeyeye has made the announcement that the Agency is not approving Chloroquine for the treatment of COVID-19 but for clinical trials to find treatment for the virus. This information was revealed by the DG in NAFDAC headquarters in Lagos.
