The Federal Government has assured Nigerians to remain calm in the midst of the corona Virus outbreak that causes pandemonium in Lagos state, saying, the government has a well-equipped facility to detect and handle cases of the dreaded virus.

Following the Ministry of Health's confirmation of the Coronavirus, (Covid-19) case in Lagos, after an Italian national tested positive to the virus, the federal government declared it has already begun processes to identify all persons that came in contact with the patient, beginning from the aeroplane he flew in through to the hospital where he was tested, assuring Nigerians that it has all the necessary capacity to manage the situation to halt any possible spread of the deadly disease.

China has on Thursday announced that the biggest drop in new cases of the coronavirus has been recorded, since its outbreak, indicating that the disease control efforts are working, AFP reports.

Lagos State Government Commissioner for Health, Prof. Akin Abayomi, has on Wednesday confirmed that the second case of Lassa fever has been recorded since 2017, at the Lagos University Teaching Hospital (LUTH), Idi-Araba. Although, details about the patient and location was not disclosed.
