"World's heaviest woman," Eman Abdul Atti, died on Monday due to complications from heart disease and kidney dysfunction, according to a statement from Burjeel Hospital in Abu Dhabi, the United Arab Emirates.

The World Health Organization (WHO) says it has stepped up efforts toward containing the outbreak of Cholera in Borno state as well as neighboring states in the North East.  The Country Representative of WHO, Wondi Alimu made this known on Friday when he visited the Muna Garage Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) Camp in Maiduguri, the Borno state capital.

Members of Joint Health Sector Union (JOHESU) have commenced indefinite strike following the expiration of the 30 days ultimatum issued to the Federal Government to meet their demands. The National Chairman of the Union, Biobelemoye Josiah who declared the strike on Wednesday during a chat with newsmen in Ilorin, the Kwara state capital stated that the industrial action would effectively commence on Thursday, August 21.
