Bobrisky Sentenced to Six Months Imprisonment

The Federal High Court in Lagos, on Friday, sentenced controversial crossdresser, Idris Olarewaju Okuneye, popularly known as Bobrisky, to six months imprisonment without the option of a fine for abusing the naira. This judgment was delivered by Justice Abimbola Awogboro, who, in her sentence, said the judgment will serve as a deterrent to others who are fond of abusing and mutilating the naira. Before the sentence, the judge asked Bobrisky about his sex, and he quickly replied that he was a man.

Lagos Court Remands Emefiele In EFCC Custody

The Lagos State High Court sitting in Ikeja on Monday ordered the remand of the former Central Bank Bank (CBN) Governor, Godwin Emefiele, in the custody of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC). Justice Rahman Oshodi gave the remand order over alleged abuse of office and $5.5 billion and N2.8 billion fraud. Emefiele will remain behind bars until Thursday when the judge will determine his bail application. However, the judge remanded Emefiele's co-defendants, Herry Omoile, in the custody of the Nigerian Correctional Services.

Binance Executives To Face Money Laundering Charges – FG

The Abuja Federal High Court has concluded plan to arraign two Binance executives, Tigran Gambaryan and Nadeem Anjarwalla for crime bordering on money laundering tomorrow Thursday. The duo will be paraded before Justice Emeka Nwite on two separate count charges. The one filed by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, which bothers on money laundering, has five counts. While the other, by the Federal Inland Revenue Service, FIRS, has four counts, in which the fin-tech company were accused of various tax infractions. 

Court Defers Trial of Binance, Others Till April 8

The Federal High Court sitting in Abuja, on Thursday, deferred the arraignment of Binance Holdings Limited and 2 of its official, Tigran Gambaryan and Nadeem Anjarwalla till April 8, 2024. Justice Emeka Nwite, the presiding judge adjourned the matter for ruling after listening to the parties’ submissions. The case was adjourned following the inability of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), to effect service of the charge on the establishment.

Binance Executives Sued NSA Ribadu, EFCC To Court

The Binance Executive, Tigran Gambaryan, under security detention has sued the National Security Adviser (NSA), Nuhu Ribadu, and the Economic Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC to court over violation of fundamental rights.
