A Federal High Court sitting in Abuja on Monday ordered the arrest of the President of Nigeria Football Federation, NFF, Amaju Pinnick. The presiding judge, Justice Ijeoma Ojukwu reportedly gave the order after the case involving the NFF official was called and he was absent in court.

He also ordered the arrest of four other officials of the NFF accused of misappropriating funds belonging to the football body.

According to Dailypost, those to be arrested alongside Pinnick include NFF Secretary, Sunusi Mohammed; the 1st Vice-President, Seyi Akinwumi; the 2nd Vice-President, Shehu Dikko and an Executive member, Yusuff Fresh.

The Order is coming several months after the Federal Government filed a 17-count charge before the court. The suit was marked FHC/ABJ/CR/93/2019.

The Government accused them of misappropriating $8,400,000 belonging to the football body.
