The Minister of Youth and Sports Development, Mr. Sunday Dare has inaugurated a 17-man committee to create a 10-year Football Development Master Plan. The inauguration ceremony took place on Thursday at the Moshood Abiola National Stadium in Abuja. President Muhammadu Buhari had charged the ministry to develop a master plan with the purpose of improving football in the country.


Dare said, “Those who are insinuating that the newly inaugurated committee will work at cross purposes with the Nigeria Football Federation are so far from the truth.

“This committee is a presidential assignment and the NFF is also working for the good of the game in Nigeria, so, we are on the same page.”

Members of the football committee include former Super Eagles players Sunday Oliseh, Emmanuel Babayero, and Olusegun Odegbami.

Other members are Adokiye Amiesimaka, Musa Amadu, Ikeddy Isiguzo, Bode Durotoye, Ogbu Ojiabor, John Opubor, Ayo Omidiran, Tobechukwu Okigbo, Ade Ojeikere, Mohammed Sanusi, Tony Nnnachetta, Yemi Idowu, Ibrahim Galadima, and Muhammad Daha Umar Faruk.
