Everton has announced the appointment of Frank Lampard as their new manager on a two-and-a-half-year deal - until June 2024.
The former England international would coach Everton on Saturday in the fourth round of their FA cup clash against Brentford at Goodison Park.
Lampard was sacked as Chelsea coach a year ago after just 18 months in charge of the Premier League team.
Lampard said, “It is a huge honor for me to represent and manage a club the size and tradition of Everton Football Club. I’m very hungry to get started.
“I think Everton is a unique club in that you can really understand what the fans want to see. The first thing they want is fight and desire and that must always be our baseline.”
According to reports, former England and Everton player Wayne Rooney rejected an interview for the position of Everton manager.
