Former Super Eagle captain, John Obi Mikel, has announced his retirement from active football after 20 years of active football life.
The Legend made the declaration through his official social media account. The former Chelsea FC star hung his boot at 35yrs with Laurels won for both clubs and country, including the nation’s cup, and the Champions League to mention a few.


Obi started his carrier from a humble beginning with Plateau United before being spotted by a Norwegian club, Lyn Oslo at the age of 17 in 2004. 

After improving his skills in football, Mikel moved to the English club, Chelsea FC after Manchester United in a controversial manner claimed they had already signed him. 

The football stage is going to miss the legend as he bids farewell to football sport.
