The 2022 Union of European Football Associations (UEFA) draws for the three UEFA competition was held today, Friday 18 March 20222, and it host a lot of exciting fixtures. Among such fixtures is Chelsea vs Real Madrid in the UEFA Champions League (UCL) and RB Leipzig vs Atalanta in the UEFA Europa League (UEL).

This year's draw was less controversial unlike the last when the draw had to be retaken. The only "controversy" with this draw is when London Club Chelsea when facing Real Madrid. Real Madrid was supposed to host Chelsea in the quarter-final second leg, but since Atletico Madrid is also hosting Manchester City on April 13, Chelsea may be forced to host the second leg, while they travel for the first as both Madrid teams cannot play at home in the second leg. Atletico may likely take priority as they are the reigning La Liga champion. However, the draw still remains unchanged at the time of reporting.

In the UEL, the 1965 victors of the European Cup Winners Cup, West Ham United will be hosting Lyon in the quarter-final with the hope of reaching a European final for the first time since 1999, when they defeated french club Metz to qualify for the UEFA Cup as one of the three winners of the 1999 Intertoto Cup.

Leicester City, having exited the 2016/17 UEFA Champions League as quarter-finalists and the 2020/21 UEFA Europa League at the Round of 32, will be gunning for a Fifth (5th) title of the decade when they face PSV Eindhoven in the Europa Conference League quarter-final.
