Suspected Boko Haram suicide bomber on Wednesday attacked an Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) camp in Dalori, Borno State, Northeast Nigeria. The chairman of the State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA), Satomi Ahmad, confirmed this to newsmen in Maiduguri. According to him, five persons – including the assailant – while 39 others sustained various degrees of injuries”.
A Vigilante group in Okpe Community of Delta state on Wednesday apprehended and disarmed eight Fulani herdsmen allegedly attempting to invade the town. A member of the group told Vigil360 that they acted on intelligence that the herdsmen were coming to invade the town. He disclosed that following the information, they laid ambush for the herdsmen before apprehending them.
Amnesty International (AI) on Monday accused the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) of killing dozens of villagers in airstrikes on some villages rocked by communal clashes. It also accused Nigerian security agencies of failing to promptly respond to crisis situation, application of excessive force and engaging in extrajudicial killings.
The Federal Government has charged a federal civil servant, Mr. Ibrahim Tumsah and his brother, Tijani, before the Federal High Court in Abuja with failure to declare their assets to the presidential panel. Ibrahim is said to be the Director of Finance and Account in the Federal Ministry of Power, Works, and Housing, while his brother, Tijani, is said to be a member of the Presidential Committee on North-East Initiative and a former Interim National Secretary of the All Progressives Congress.
The South African policemen suspected to be responsible for the death of a 27-year-old Nigerian, Ebuka Okori, have been remanded in prison.
Okori was allegedly killed by two members of the South African Police Service (SAPS) on Friday, January 19.
Eyewitnesses alleged that Okori was handcuffed and shot dead by the policemen.
Three people have been confirmed dead after gunmen struck in an early Sunday morning raid on Kikon Village of Numan Local Government Area in Adamawa State.
