Three out of the seven remaining school girls earlier abducted from the Federal Government College, Birnin Yauri, Kebbi State by bandits have regained their freedom. Those released are Elizabeth Ogechi Nwafor, Esther Sunday and Aliya Abubakar. The chairman of parents of the Abducted School Girls’ Forum, Malam Salim Kaoje revealed to press that the newly released girls arrived Kebbi on Monday afternoon. “Yes they released three of the school girls to us on Sunday evening. They are already with the State Government”, Kaoje said.


He however did not reveal if any ransom was paid.

Vigil360 in June 2021 reported that suspected bandits struck in Birnin Yauri under the Yauri Local Government Area of kebbi state and abducted many students of Federal Government College, Birnin-Yauri.

Subsequently on April 22 the bandits spearheaded by Dogo Gide released four of the remaining 11 girls in their custody named named as Bilha Musa, Faiza Ahmed, Rahma Abdullahi and Hafsa Murtala.
