The Independent Corrupt Practices and other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) questioned Chris Ngige, a former minister of labour and employment, over alleged job racketeering and contract regularities at the Nigeria Social Insurance Trust Fund (NSITF).
The NSITF is under the supervision of the Federal ministry of labour and employment, which Ngige was in charge of for eight years during the tenure of former president, Muhammadu Buhari.
The spokesperson of ICPC, Demola Bakare stated that Ngige was not detained and is assisting the Commission with an investigation.
Recall that the ICPC had previously summoned and questioned top officials of the NSITF regarding irregularities within the Fund.
