The Nigerian Immigration Service (NIS) has extended the suspension of National Passport processing and migrant e-registration from 23rd April to 23rd May 2020. The extension order was issued by its Comptroller General (CG), Muhammad Babandele in a statement on Thursday through the Service Public Relations Officer (PRO), Sunday James.
The Nigeria Labor Congress has warned the Federal Government against further extension of the lockdown put in place due to the novel coronavirus pandemic claiming that it could trigger social unrest if the lockdown exceeded one month.

Troops of the Nigerian Arm attached to Sector 2, Operation Lafiya Dole have conquered 105 Boko Haram / ISWAP insurgents in its recent rout after an attempted attack by the insurgents in Buni Gari community of Yobe State. A section of the Independence National Electoral Commission (INEC) complex in Abuja has been gutted by fire. The inferno affected the office of INEC's Directors of Voters Registry, the Office of the Director, Elections and Party Monitoring Department (EPM); Apart from the office equipment and the personal effects of the Voters Registry Director which were lost to the fire incident, the operational capacity has not in any way been affected.
