Reports indicate that rampaging Boko Haram members who attacked Babbangida the headquarters of Tarmuwa local government area of Yobe State have set ablaze Emir of Jajere’s palace.
According to Dailypost, the attackers drove into the town in a convoy of gun trucks, shooting sporadically.
A resident was quoted to have said normalcy have returned after the late afternoon assault.
Babbangida had previously suffered similar violent attacks carried out by the Boko Haram insurgents. The town is about 53km from Damaturu, the Yobe State capital.
Efforts by Vigil360 to ascertain casualty figure failed as an official close to the emir declined to comment.
