In a bid to lay the issue of the Integrated Personnel and Information System (IPPIS), which the Federal Government directed all Ministries, Departments and Agencies to join, President Muhammadu Buhari, has today, the 9th of January, 2020 met with the leadership of the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU).

The meeting held at the presidential villa had the national leadership of the Union and top government officials in attendance.

ASUU’s President, Prof Biodun Ogunyemi led the national officers of the Union to the meeting, which started at 3 pm.

But, the unionists did not address State House Correspondents after the end of the meeting.

Recall that the Union has consistently opposed the policy, which the government claimed saved up to N250 billion as of October 2019.

During the meeting, ASUU reportedly presented its position on the issue to President Buhari.

Other dignitaries in attendance include the Chief of Staff to the President, Secretary to the Government of the Federation, the Minister of Labour and Employment and the Minister of Finance, Budget and National Planning, among others.
