Chairman of the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON), following his nomination President Bola Tinubu on August 19, 2024. Usman’s confirmation followed the consideration and adoption of the report of the Senate Committee on Foreign Affairs, which stated that his nomination was in line with section 3(2) of the NAHCON Act 2006.
Chairman of the Committee, Bello Abubakar (APC-Niger) stated that the committee did not receive any petition against him; he had been cleared by security agencies, presented his tax clearance, code of conduct acknowledgement slip.
He also stated that during the screening exercise, the nominee was articulate and meticulous while responding to questions asked.
The Senate thereafter confirmed the appointment of Usman.
