The Borno State Deputy Governor, Umar Kadafur, has expressed the readiness of the state government to continue fighting against insurgency and terrorism in the state. Kadafur stated this when he visited victims of the Saturday suicide bomb blast that hits Gwoza Local Government Area, LGA, of the state.
Vigil360 reported that a suicide attacks was carried out by suspected female suicide bombers that struck a wedding venue gathering beside central Motor Park, a hospital, and a funeral gathering in Gwoza, town all in same day.
The State Police Public Relations Officer, Nahum Daso, while making statement on Sunday confirmed that three blasts took place on Saturday in Gwoza town.
While sympathising with the victims and people of the LGA, the Deputy Governor condemned the attacks, saying the perpetrators of the act took advantage of the laxity of vigilance by the people following the relative peace that have been achieved in the state.
Kadafur appealed to the people to step up their sensitivity in their communities and be more vigilant and also report any suspicious movement or persons to any nearest security personnel or outfit to avoid similar incident.
He announced that the state government has settled the all medical bills of the victims while assuring that they are receiving adequate medical attention at the specialist hospital in Maiduguri.
The Deputy Governor confirmed that 42 victims were admitted at the hospital; tragically two people lost their lives while 16 others have been discharged.
Meanwhile, He added 24 others ere currently receiving treatment in the hospital.
