FIFA and UEFA have suspended Russia's national teams and clubs from international football until further notice due to the country's invasion of Ukraine. In a joint statement, the two football governing bodies announced that all Russian teams “whether national representative teams or club teams, shall be suspended from participation in both Fifa and Uefa competitions until further notice.

Officials at the Union of Europeans Football Associations, sponsoring the Champions League, have been deliberating on whether to hold the May 28 game in Russia city's Gazprom Arena.
