The Nigeria Hydrological Services Agency (NIHSA) on Friday issued a public warning over the rising water levels in River Niger. This was revealed by the NIHSA director-general Umar Mohammed in a statement that floodwaters from these countries are gradually moving towards Nigeria, starting with Kebbi. The Chief Judge of Akwa Ibom, Justice Ekaete Fabian Obot had ordered the release of 44 inmates from the correctional facilities in the state. The freed inmates whom among them are two females, and 42 males were accused of minor crimes, says Justice Obot on Thursday.

Zhongshan Fucheng Industrial Investment Co. Limited, the Chinese firm that sized Nigeruia's presidential jets and other national assets, has announced the release of one of Nigeria’s presidential jets, following a directive from a French court. The aircraft, an Airbus A330, was previously detained in France under a court order obtained by Zhongshan.
